Christmas 2011 was extremely exciting for me.
This was the first year that my son had any clue what was going on, so that was extremely exciting.
He is only 15 months old and received a guitar collection, and MEGA BLOCKS, of course!
My husband rocks and I got a new camera, computer, and other awesome gadget!
Yes, readers of Nighlon will benefit from this.
Today, I am giving you a recap of the

Happy New Year!
Last year, we had a white Christmas…
This year, not so much!
It feels like October here!
However, if you blog on WordPress.com, you can have a white Christmas
1. Go to your dashboard
2. Click on Settings
3. Select General
4. Scroll to the bottom
5. Check “ Show falling snow on my blog until January 4th”
6. Enjoy the snow falling on your blog, even if its not in your yard!
Today was very frustrating to me.
I won’t go into many details.
All I will say is this: People should be more thankful!
No matter your situation, there is always something to be thankful for.
It saddens me to see that this is the world my son will grow up in.
In light of this, I have decided to start a new project.
I want to make a difference and make the world a happier place!
As I’m sure you have read before, Beautiful Imperfection is my mommy blog.
Its kind of cute too (I’m proud of it)
Here, I am going to start a challenge. A challenge to be a positive inspiration to people.
To encourage others to be happier.
To encourage others to look around them and see what they have to be thankful for.
I will share with you when the details are complete.
Now for some fun!
I have decided to follow in an old family tradition with NighLon.
In my family, my family left the Christmas Tree up until January 2, every year.
This was to bring something good from the old year into the new year.
Following in this tradition, I am going to keep the blog kit giveaway going until January 3rd.
Just follow the requirements HERE by January 3rd, and you will receive a free custom blog kit!

I’m sitting here tonight thinking “what to do, what to do?”
My husband however is laughing so hard he has tears rolling down his face.
Apparently, he is now obsessed with watching YouTube on xbox.
For 3 days now, he has been watching Rage Quit videos from Rooster Teeth, or something like that!
Yes, my husband is a geek- just an xbox geek!
Listening to him laugh is enough entertainment.
In fact, its a little too much entertainment… I cannot concentrate while he is laughing like that. It is too funny.
So instead of working tonight, It looks like I will be listening to the hubs laugh at Rage Quit videos….
AND EMPTYING MY INBOX!

Organize With Sandy has become one of my favorite blogs.
Like I said before, organizing has not been my thing lately.
Its hard to believe that I was at one time the most organized person I know.
The sad part is, I have no clue what happened.
On to Sandy. She is wonderful. She is talented. She is a geek. She is organized.
What could be better? When I read her blog, I often think…
“Oh yeah, she is genius… I want to be her when I finally grow up!”
Not only will you find ways of organizing; stories about being a mom and a wife; and definitely some motivation!
Hop on over to Organize With Sandy, Just let her know I sent you!
This time of year always makes me think of all the traditions my Mother held tight to every year. These traditions will always have a warm spot in my heart. We always colored an advent calendar; took food to charities; stood outside stores ringing bells; and woke to reindeer tracks and Santa’s muddy boot prints. However, I think what stands out to me the most would be our letters to Santa.
In case you haven’t noticed, my childhood was quite different from most. We have a strict, but very loving Mama who instilled in us many important values. Most of all, she taught us responsibility, manners, respect, gratitude, and thoughtfulness. Things were no different at Christmas time.
Every year, after the tree was put up; the old world Santas were placed around the house; and the Nativity scene placed on the sidebar, it was time to write our letters to Santa. We would sit at the dining room table with homemade hot cocoa and Christmas cookies. Mama would turn on Christmas music and bring out her box of stationary. Inside this box, was the prettiest Christmas paper ever! The best part, it was only used for our letters to Santa. She even had special pencils for us to use.
Now, my mama is a bit different from most when it comes to writing to Santa. There were rules involved. Not only did we have to use our best handwriting, but we also had to actually write a letter- no lists allowed! We were only allowed to ask for one thing. Most of all, we had to show appreciation. Our letters were to include a thank you for last years gifts; a thank you for being nice to so many kids; and what we accomplished that year. I didn’t understand why we did this, but now I am so thankful that my Mama did this. After we wrote our letters, we made Santa a gift- usually an ornament.
As I sit here writing this, I wonder what made her think to do this. Also, I wonder whatever happened to those years of gifts for Santa from three children with an amazing Mother. I have my suspicions that they were either given to family members, the sick and elderly at hospitals or nursing homes, women’s shelters, or even to random charities. I will ask her one day. These are traditions that I will definitely keep going with my own son!
At the following websites, you can find areas to let your children email letters to Santa, as well as receive a letter from Santa!

The Dolls are Alright is a blog written by dolls (Patti, Petie, and Tricia) and their Guardian (Patricia).
The blog contains stories from their everyday lives, photo shoots, and even snippets of history.
I met Patricia in a course on SITS ( The Secret to Success is Support)
I knew from the point of hearing her story that I just had to see this blog.
It is adorable.
I have never seen another like it!
It is definitely a must see!

Lego Christmas: A Geek’s Winter Wonderland
At a London Train Station , a 33 foot Christmas Tree has been built.
Out of LEGOS!
It is probably the largest Lego Christmas Tree ever built, and took over 2 months to complete!
Talk about spreading the Christmas Cheer.
Here are more views:
I do believe I am going to try my hand at making Christmas goodies out of Legos!
Maybe a wreath, some ornaments, or a Christmas town.

Trashy Betty is one of my favorite blogs!
She blogs about her artwork, her kids, her life in general, and all things she loves, including other artists.
Her Etsy shop is absolutely amazing!
If I didn’t have a 1 year old running around, I would have everything she makes.
For now, I think I’ll just look at it, and order a skull headband or FTW mirror!
She even does hair and makeup for a Pinup photographer!
Talk about multi-talented!
